Formed in the energy crisis of the 1970s, The National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC administers uniform and independent rating and labeling system for the energy performance of windows, doors, skylights, and attachment products. The standards assist architects, builders, code officials, homeowners, governments, utilities, and manufacturers in determining the heat gains and losses in buildings while using fenestration products. The NFRC documents cover the following:

  • Fenestration product U-factors
  • Door systems thermal properties
  • Thermal performance characteristics
  • Solar heat gain coefficients
  • Visible transmittance
  • Product air leakage

Online Access - Subscribers get secure online access to search, view, bookmark, track, and print documents according to the license agreement. Online documents are updated daily. Multiple users can share a single license. You also get access to IHS Standards bibliographic data – more than 1 Million documents.
