The International Code Council (ICC) unveiled a new resource for architects and design professionals who need to understand and apply building code concepts when developing plans for construction.
Building Codes Illustrated, Second Edition is an illustrative guide to the 2006 International Building Code (IBC) that provides code interpretation in both words and illustrations.
Building Codes Illustrated, published by John Wiley & Sons, highlights major changes between the new code and previous model building codes and outlines how the codes affect building design through the practice of architecture.
Author and architect Francis D.K. Ching illustrated the guide, which was co-authored by Steven R. Winkel, FAIA, a code expert, architect and engineer.
