The International Code Council (ICC) and the Structural Engineers Association of California (SEAOC) issued a three-volume set of manuals that incorporate requirements and the latest design methods contained in the 2006 International Building Code (IBC) and ASCE/SEI 7-05 - The Structural/Seismic Design Manuals.

The update is designed as a resource for civil and structural engineers.

The 2006 IBC Structural/Seismic Design Manuals provide design examples illustrating the practical application of problems addressing a range of both structural and seismic issues:

  • Volume 1 - Code Application Examples includes 57 specific examples representing a wide variety of common code applications.
  • Volume 2 – Building Design Examples for Light-frame, Tilt-up, and Masonry addresses wood light-frame, cold-formed steel light-frame, masonry shear wall and tilt-up buildings. A wind design example also is included.
  • Volume 3 – Building Design Examples for Steel and Concrete addresses steel braced frame, buckling restrained braced frame, steel moment frame, steel plate shear wall, reinforced concrete shear wall with coupling beams and reinforced concrete moment-resisting frame buildings.

Volumes 1 and 2 are available, while Volume 3 is in production and scheduled to ship in early 2007. ICC members can order the three-volume set for $136 ($171 nonmembers). ICC members also can purchase individual volumes for $53.50 each ($67 nonmembers).
